RUYOLSUDEV with her expertise in rural development, have beautifully organized
farmers in the production of plantain in Bangem sub division and the result is quite im-
pressive. Producing 35% of national production is absolutely important in food security
and nutrition. International Agriculture Promote that just ended in Bangem was quite
exciting. It is proved, a good testimony that Bangem is the King of plantain in the Re-
public of Cameroon and RUYOLSUDEV the main plantain producer with the technical
expertise. The event motivated farmers and they are so enthusiastic to produce more and
continue to promote made in Cameroon through plantain flour and chips with other de-
rivative.
Amidst COVID 19, Ukraine war and the Anglophone crisis in Cameroon, RUY-
OLSUDEV quietly organized youths to produce food crops as to feed the world. Haven
understood the difficulty most people especial youths found themselves at at that critical
time, at the heart of the Anglophone crisis there was need for such an initiative…. This
explain the reason Bangem is most peaceful in the South West Region of Cameroon to-
day. We moved up the production of plantain from 2% to 35% at National Level, Coffee
and maize production equally increased exponentially. With this initiative we drastically
reduced hunger and poverty in these communities within Bangem sub Division and life
could go on smoothly. RUYOLSUDEV understand, community development is a pro-
cess that involve every stakeholder with mutual benefit.
The above success work called for celebration code named
“INTERNATIONAL AGRICULTURE PROMOT”. This
happened on November 28 – 29th 2024. Thousands of well-
wishers showed up to write their names on stones witness a
leap forward on agricultural revolution within the Kupe
Muamenguba Division. Farmers in the division showcased
their ability to produce agricultural products. The event also
had aspects like BEST FARM AWARD and MISS KUPE
MUANENGUBA to grease the celebration. This brought
thousands of well-wishers and potential investors together to
expand agriculture in remote rural communities.
To produce 35% of national production in Cameroon plantain wasn’t an easy task. We
understand what it means to bring people together for a common purpose. This was a
way to bring farmers together….,Bangem today is well recognized for the production of
plantains and other crops like coffee and maize. We are hopeful the years ahead will be
best. A good number of farmers benefited farm inputs during this event. The aim here is
to motivate them as we look forward to double production by 2030.
MISS KUPE MUANENGUBA: Congratulations to our winners. Crown Miss Kupe
Muanenguba 2024, Achalle Enyang from Nguti
• The slow implementation process of the government to accompany the private sec-
tor in real success deal in rural communities is a huge challenge and exacerbate
poverty.
• Some Politician get frighten with the beautiful work we do in most rural areas
• Bangem for example. We understand they are not use to life improvement project
as well as development as corruption is top on their agenda.
•Raising funds for development projects is difficult.
• Lack of will by some government administrators
Construction of the factory to transform plantains, coffee, maize etc.[ Rural Indus-
trialization]
•Have regular farmer training for climate adaptation, planting material production,
farm management etc.
• Reduction of post-harvest problems, improving on farm to market roads. Production
of planting materials and adequate provision of farm inputs.
• Local authorities need to have a good knowledge of decentralization policy
Its not an over statement to say RUYOLSUDEV is a innovative grassroots organization.
This event just passed was aimed to encourage young people who have adopted RUY-
OLSUDEV Development Model in agricultural system and to move forward the policy
of rural industrialization, promote made in Cameroon from rural areas to increase the
GDP of Cameroon economy. In addition to creating decent agricultural jobs at most re-
mote and difficult areas, we look at reducing post-harvest problem. It was to share on
our experience to produce food as a means to solve hunger and poverty. We equally had
as objectives to encourage youths into agriculture to solve rural urban migration which is
rampant and creating havoc today. It should be noted that we were to attract investors in
this profitable agribusiness as well.
This event was organized under the patronage of the Minister of Agriculture and Rural
Development. The local organizing committee headed by HRM Chief Nnoko Nnane
Emmanuel, the Paramount chief of Bangem who doubles as the President of Kupe
Muaneneguba Chiefs Conference had support of all the chiefs within the division. The
South West Development Authority [SOWEDA] provided material and financial support
to this very great event. Though the Bangem Council Mayor, Ekongwe Christopher
Kang, took a negative approach for political reasons, the Bangem central administration
was in full support and gave their maximum support to the event.
Kupe Muanenguba Administration equally played a very important role to the success of
the event. We encourage stakeholders to collaborate as to expand the development of
rural communities in Kupe Muanenguba
The value chain process that effectively complete our policy of rural in-
dustrialization, led to the transformation of the above mentioned raw ma-
terials to finished and semi-finished goods. Through this process we in-
tend to create decent jobs from the production of raw materials to market-
ing of finished products. With this we look forward to increase shelf value
of what we produce and distribute to other parts of the world. These or-
ganic products equally improve on the health situation of many around
the world today. Chips usually called ‘BANGEM GOLD’ and PLAN-
TAIN FLOUR have gain a considerable share of the market. MINADER
support to this beautiful idea led to the approval of the Bangem Transfor-
mation unit, funder by African Development Bank [AfDB]
We give huge appreciation to Crossroads Foundation, for her assistance
to farmers making it possible for them to contribute enormously to na-
tion building. It is our priority to build well functioning rural communi-
ties. We continue to seek partnerships with other non governmental or-
ganisations, embassies, Ministerial departments etc.
AIMS OF THE AGRICULTURAL SECTOR
- To reduce poverty and Hunger in rural communities.
- To reduce rural urban migration as well as create decent agricultural jobs in rural communities.
- Expand the policy of rural industrialization by transforming agricultural products to finish and semi finish goods.
